We’ve supplied footage for a new documentary drama on Channel 4 starting tonight about the life and works of Alan Turing, the English mathematician, wartime code-breaker and pioneer of computer science.

The film used in this documentary comes from The Cruise.

Entitled Britain’s Greatest Codebreaker – The Hero of Station X , this 90 minute film will explore Turing’s role during World War Two in breaking the German Naval Enigma Code as well as his pioneering work in developing artificial intelligence.

The film’s trailer claims that The Hero of Station X is a

“…big, bold film [that] will portray Turing as he really was, a maverick genius and inspiring figure who lived life on his own terms. It will show that modern technology has only just begun to explore the potential of his ideas, and that the 21st Century will be his century. It places him firmly where he belongs in the scientific firmament, alongside the greats like Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and Charles Darwin.”

We look forward to watching this, it sounds very promising!

The programme will also be available to watch for 14 days by following this link:
