Get involved

We are always looking for people with a passion for film to help out in and around the archive. As we are based at the University, students are more than welcome to visit the archive, be it to volunteer or to use film for their projects at the University. This is not limited strictly to film students, the archive is open to everyone.

As a volunteer, you would work alongside professional archivists and technicians, as well as other volunteers. Depending on your area of interest, you would have the opportunity to work first hand with film, either cataloguing, caring for collections in store or working with new collections as they come in.

Alternatively, you may like to help out with our public events or marketing. Volunteering at the archive offers a great experience for those who wish to pursue a career with film and also for those who wish to add to the local film history of the area.

If you come to one of our film shows and you have an interest in getting involved we would be more than happy to speak to you after the show where we can discuss options and opportunities further. Alternatively, an easy way to help us is by simply registering here. You can keep up to date with the archive and the new content that we will be featuring on the site in the future.

If this interests you, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
